Churches

All Saints

Our Beliefs
All Saints is an Evangelical church, which believes that the Bible is God’s inerrant word (He didn’t make any mistakes when he caused it to be written!) It tells us all about His plan for the world from creation through to new creation. This is a plan that is all about Jesus, God the son. It’s a plan that God is making known to people through the work of the Holy Spirit when the Bible is taught. It’s a plan that involves people being rescued from Hell and freely given the riches of Heaven through Jesus. That’s why it is called the gospel or good news.Through this gospel God is gathering people to know Him through Jesus and gathering people together into His family. At All Saints we believe church is a family and therefore we try to work hard at our relationships with each other and help each other out just like any family should! Our Aims and Visions
All Saints is an evangelical church which bases it’s life around the Bible. That is where God tells us about His amazing plan to rescue the world through Jesus. Our aim is that we help people to follow Jesus whether they’ve been Christians for a long time or whether they are just looking into the claims of the Christian faith.

Our vision...
is to see more people from all over Preston, whatever their background, discover the life changing reality of knowing Jesus. There are three ways we try to do this:
• Teaching about Jesus from His word the Bible.• Showing the love that Jesus has by serving our community and beyond.• Caring for everyone in our church family and helping them live for Jesus.

Ashton Baptist Church

Ashton Baptist Church has been a cornerstone in the Ashton community since 1958. We are a loving, caring church with a wonderful group of believers who range from age 1 to 100. The mission of our church is to worship God within the Body of Christ, spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ here at home and throughout the world, to minister to those God has put in our path and to spiritually grow and disciple them into the likeness of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savoir.

A "Church" is not a building but a group of people who have come to know Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. Back in 1880 when the church was formed Ashton probably looked very much different than it does today. But although fashions, transport and places may change, people still have the same needs. We believe their greatest need is to know God and to be at peace with Him. We need to know whey we exist and what happens to us when we die. We believe that the Bible is where we can get answers and that it is God's word to man, and therefore, relevant for every age and generation. It tells us about Jesus, God's eternal Son who cam to save people like you and me. He alone has power to forgive us our sins, to change our lives and bring us to heaven when we die.

Carey Baptist Church

Baptists are a part of the worldwide family of Christian believers. As Christians we believe that God is real, and that he has revealed himself to us in various ways but supremely in the person of Jesus Christ. His life and teaching show us what a truly good and fulfilled human life looks like, and so serves as a model for our own lives.
Yet the reality is that we all fail to live up to that perfect standard. For that reason, through Jesus’ death on the cross and subsequent resurrection to new life, God has made it possible for all who seek him and put their trust in Jesus to receive forgiveness and so be filled with his Holy Spirit and receive the promise of eternal life. Here at Carey we seek to live our lives in the light of this amazing Good News. This commitment finds expression in our church mission statement:

Mission Statement
Our desire is to serve God and the people of Preston by growing closer to the Lord Jesus through inspired worship, biblical discipleship and loving fellowship, and reaching out to others by proclaiming the Good News of Christ and serving the community. StudentsAs a comparatively small fellowship (about 60 members) Carey offers a warm family welcome to students.
We realise that students often feel pressured for time - with many working alongside their studies and some becoming heavily involved with the activities of the Christian Union. We don't want to add to this burden so we won't pressure you to get involved too much in our congregational life - other than to invite you to Sunday dinner every now and then.

On the other hand if you feel that you would like to get involved with our work we are always happy for you get stuck in - whether you are a musician, worship leader, budding preacher, or youth worker, or whatever else may be your gifting. This helps us and hopefully helps you to develop your gifts and ministry.

City Church Preston

City Church Preston is one of the oldest churches in Preston, established in 1908, and our aim is to be a relevant church transforming lives by God's power. We are associated to Assemblies of God which is a large (and growing) number of pentecostal churches, not only in the UK but across the planet.

We would love to welcome you to the church and introduce you to one (or more) of our many activities taking place every week. The main focus of the church is the Sunday Morning Services where everyone gets together for a lively and fantastic time of worship and a relevant message, We usually host a great 'Sunday Lunch' on the last Sunday of every month to which everyone is welcome. Alongside this we have a number of activities running on a Sunday evening from 6.00pm, except for the last Sunday in the month.

There are numerous areas with which to serve as a student in the church or just to be part of one of our activities. Typically students get involved in the worship band, youth work, kids work, creative community and many more areas of service in the church. When you're all served out or in need of a place to fo then one of our network of small groups, City Church Women events, trophy winning football team and special 16 to thirty something's group "The Base" would be ideal for any student of citizen of Preston.

It's a vibrant church where we maintain a focus on all generations from the youngest to the oldest. One of our church partners summed it up for us when they said 'This is my kind of church', why not come and see if it's 'Your kind of church?'

Fullwood Free Methodist

The heartbeat of FFMC is that we long to be a loving community of God's life changing presence.
Over its history Fulwood has been a community which has seen a lot of life change, but God has so much more for us.Fulwood Free Methodist Church opened in 1978 as a plant from the already existing Crown Lane Church. The church building is situated on the edge of Fulwood which was then a relatively new community. The initial building had capacity for 160. In an eight year period, Fulwood grew to 250 and planted a daughter church to the south, in Penwortham. In the same year a new worship centre with a capacity of over 400 was also built. Fulwood has always had a heart for local and global mission. One example of this is the ongoing commitment to Kibogora in Rwanda. Many people from the fellowship have visited this area of Central Africa since one of the early church members, Shiela Etherington OBE, followed a leading from God to go out into the mission field as a nurse. Fulwood has also supported the work financial for over 20 years.

Sunday Services:

Morning - 10.00am
Evening - 6.30pm

Mornings:
Our morning services last approximately an hour and a quarter and generally contain lively worship, prayer and Bible readings. The talk is based around a passage from the Bible.
People of all ages come to the morning service. There is a crèche available for the younger children.
Junior Church and Ignite also run at the same time. The Junior Church children stay with their families for the first part of the service before being escorted to the Lighthouse.
The morning service is normally accompanied with BSL signing.

Evenings:
Generally, the evening service is more oriented to the adults and young people. There is a much stronger focus on worship, through traditional and contemporary songs. We have a lively and able music group. There is always a talk based on a topic or theme from the Bible, which we seek to make relevant to life today. The evening service is usually about an hour and a half long.

Church 4 U

We are a brand new church, about to be launched more fully in the next few days / weeks. We are called "Preston Church4U", or in short just "Church4U"We are an active, friendly and relaxed church. We believe that church is not about just attending a meeting once a week, but it is just as much about mutual friendship, help and support. We are God's family, and we therefore get together in homes and all sorts of other places whenever and wherever it makes sense to meet people. We are part of an international network of churches ("Ministries Without Borders") led by our apostle Keri Jones. This summer the team of apostles and prophets here in the UK have released us and will continue to support us in pioneering a new church to reach the people of the city of Preston.

Our meetings are vibrant with expressive praise and worship as well as plenty of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe God is a God of miracles and healing, and we passionately seek to see people's lives transformed by his love and power. We already have a number of students amongst us, but we certainly welcome students and want to help them to get the max out of life during their time at university. It is a fantastic time to grow in your faith in God and your relationship with Him, to learn about yourself and about the plans and purposes that God has prepared for your life.We are also passionate about directly reaching out to all kinds of people around us. We seek to demonstrate Jesus' love, His life and the power of the gospel to the world around us. We desire to help anyone who is willing to experience what we have experienced, i.e. how our lives are completely transformed by knowing and following Jesus Christ, and by walking full of the Holy Spirit in every day life. This is the most exciting thing there is, and we want to share this great news with everybody.

Preston Vineyard

As a church we are committed to worship God, be involved in practical ways in our local community and to have fun doing so. In particular we enjoy hanging out with God, being a family together and caring for each other in a number of ways, spiritual, emotional and practical. All of our teaching is firmly grounded in the Bible and comes with frequent opportunities to practise what is taught. For example praying for the sick, clothing the unclothed, praying for each other and receiving from God

Preston Vineyard is an active church located in the heart of the city of Preston. We aim to impact Preston and the wider community through our actions and lifestyle. Not by hiding away in a Church building once a week, but by opening our doors so that anyone can come in. Also so that we can leave the confines of our building and effectively help the Preston community through practical and spiritual support

North Preston Evangelical Church

NPEC is a relatively new Church. It was formed about ten years ago and moved into its modern purpose built premises two years ago. NPEC is evangelical in its outlook and holds to the practice of 'Believers' baptism. It also holds that worship should be structured and primarily for the glory of God and that preaching is central to this.NPEC is an independent and non-denominational church, but is affiliated to the Grace Baptist Assembly. It enjoys fellowship with many like-minded churches.

NPEC welcomes students from the University and other colleges and in the Preston area. Many members have been students and remember the support and encouragement they received from local churches during their student careers. Some were students in Preston and have remained to pursue careers on completion of their courses. Students are encouraged to play an active role in the church and to enjoy regular hospitality in members homes, involvement in Young Peoples' groups, sport and social activities as well as the formal services or study and prayer meetings.

Wycliffe Memorial Evangelical Church

We believe that all of the bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe that "you must be born again" and that "there is only one name under heaven by which we must be saved" (Jesus). All of our sermons are preached expounding a text or bible passage, rather than covering a subject (eg love, faith, relationships etc). The church was set up as an Independent Evangelical Church and is governed by a Board of Trustees. The original ethos of the church, which was that the main emphasis should be based on sound bible teaching, is still maintained today by the current pastor, Rev Bob Worswick. The bibles in use at the church are the Authorised Version, and the New King James Version.“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid which is Jesus Christ.” – 1 Cor 3:11

Now a member of the FIEC, the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, Wycliffe has best been described as “a friendly fellowship with traditional values, but not set in its ways!”In addition to the sound bible teaching, Wycliffe has long been renowned for its love of music, and this remains true today. Apart from still using the lovely traditional church organ, music is also provided by our music group “Celebration”, which also consists of piano, bass guitar, rhythm guitar, and tambourine. The Sankey Hymnbook and Mission Praise are both used in the church.
